SMS Controlled Remote Power Switch
Occasionally, our ISP modem locks up and requires a power cycle to get going again. I contacted the ISP and they claim it’s a service problem they’re working on. Meanwhile, I just need to power reset the modem anytime the lock up occurs. Sure that works fine, except when I’m traveling with my laptop and need to remote login to access home files.
This seemed like a great opportunity to use my Nova Hologram and Raspberry Pi. I found a remote AC power switch on Amazon and used the Raspberry Pi and Hologram to create a SMS controlled remote power switch.
